Much like the recent storm swept through the north-west the night before, the home side swept Manchester United away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil win for the City coach's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that truly announced their title credentials as they consolidated their standing at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Setbacks for United

This scoreline marked consecutive league losses for the United manager's side for the first time since May 2024, leaving them a sizable gap off the league leaders with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.
