Recent Details Emerge Regarding the Location of the Reiner Couple's Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced regarding the shocking deaths of renowned director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their residence home on Sunday.

A Discovery

According to a report referencing a person close to the family, a practitioner arriving for an session first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. This individual then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.

Upon entering the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of first-degree murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and denied bail.

Disputed Reports

The anonymous source also disputed several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

Furthermore refuted published suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to descriptions of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the discovery. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Investigation Timeline

Per law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
