Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Widespread Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the US has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
