Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The latest Far Cry instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for celebrating violence and madness with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, socially charged narratives. No wonder then that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two producers whose projects have represented all of those qualities.
What to Expect
Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game franchise, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' structure by having a new location and group of personalities in every instalment.
Key Producers
Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
The network enjoyed outstanding relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”
Upcoming Developments
Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.
“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family always encourages me with their constant trust and backing.”
“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone series. Each game is a interpretation of a concept, the same way every series of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the essence of people through this complex and unpredictable perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, visionary approach to the television.”
A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
