Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Life
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.
Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
